Investigating treatments for Adverse Childhood Experiences
0 %
This study is about Adverse Childhood Experiences (such as abuse or neglect) and how they affect adults who previously experienced them as well as what psychological treatments they have received. The purpose of this study is to identify which treatment is most effective for the majority of people who have had these experiences (which is in part determined by the availability and efficacy of different treatment options). This study is looking for people over the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18, thank you for your interest in this research but please do not complete the study. It should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

You are going to be asked some questions about your own experiences, your mental and physical health and any psychological treatments or medication relating to your mental health or mental state that you have tried/used. You do not need to answer all of the questions if you don't feel comfortable doing so and all answers will be kept confidential and anonymous. You will not be asked your name or any identifiable details. Once you have completed the study you will be provided with a list of charities and organisations that you can reach out to, should you want someone to talk to or some support.

The questions will ask about things such as physical and emotional abuse or neglect, sexual assault and death within the family. You can leave any question blank if you would like. This study has been given ethical approval from the Newman University Ethics Committee and is in line with the British Psychological Society's guidelines.

Your data will be kept on a password encrypted hard drive and in accordance with the GDPR. If you have any questions or concerns about this research or wish to withdraw your data please contact:
